The Effect of Large-Capacity Magazine Bans on High-Fatality Mass Shootings, 1990-2017

This academic paper looked at data of high-fatality mass shootings from 1990 to 2017, and large-capacity magazine bans at the federal and state levels individually. The research found that mass shootings with large-capacity magazines were 62% more fatal than mass shootings occurring in states with magazine bans. Banning magazines will reduce the number of mass shootings as well as the number of deaths.
